The schema therapy approach, the different schema’s and how it works with clients.
Date: 7 February 2020 (Full) – New date to be confirmed
Location: Usually at Radyr Golf Club, Dryscol Road, Radyr, Cardiff, South Glamorgan, CF15 8BS
Cost: Special price of £85.00 includes a light lunch and refreshments.
This 1-day workshop is an introduction to schema therapy and will focus on some of the schema therapy essential basics. There is a strong focus on early maladaptive schemas (the schema model) as well as an introduction to schema modes (schema mode model).
Participants will learn about the development of underlying schemas during childhood and adolescence and their subsequent activation in later years. This later-life activation of schemas can create significant emotional distress and behavioural difficulties (often on a daily basis) and forms negative life patterns, which are often so debilitating for our clients.
Video footage and/or live demonstrations will also be used to assist participants in learning how to develop and apply skilful interventions. This workshop will facilitate clinicians in being able to use the schema model in their clinical practice immediately and provides a strong platform for further learning of skills and techniques used in Schema Therapy.
